VCMF at the helm in Douala


VINCI Construction Maritime et Fluvial's teams, in a joint venture with Sogea-Satom (VINCI Construction International Network), have just delivered a new 200 m land built quay in Douala, Cameroon.

905,000 m³ of material was also dredged as part of the project to create a channel, which will open up access to ships with a 10 m draft and enable the unloading of raw materials for cement.

Some keys figures :

Cost of works : €23.5 million.

- A 200-m long quay (HZ880 combiwall / AZ26 700 steel sheet pile) including :


  • 129 H piles and 123 tie rods
  • More than 300 sheet piles
  • 2 500 m³ of reinforced concrete

- Conveyor foundations : 64 piles Ø 813 mm

- An 18 ha basin dredged to -10 m CD : 905, 000 m³ of dredged sediment pushed back 2 km.

- 10 hectares of backfilled wetlands for the local community
